Wait on the Lord

Isaiah 40:28-31, (KJV)

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

God, my God, is everlasting.

He created this earth and all that is in it. He never grew/grows tired. His wisdom is so great we could never fully understand it.

This is the God I serve. This is the God who adopted me into His family when I accepted the shed blood of Christ for my sins. This is the God who granted me the power of the Holy Spirit. It is through Him and by Him that I can do all things (Philippians 4:13).

When I am weak, He strengthens me. When I am weary, He gives me power. When I have nothing else to lean on, draw on, rely on, I have Him.

When I seek His will and follow His commands, I have nothing to worry about. He will lift me up and strengthen me.

Isaiah 4031

I need to wait on His timing. I stay where I am and do what He called me to do until I hear otherwise. I may feel God has something for me, but if I try to do it on my own, in my own timing, then I will fail. If I wait for His timing, then all will go well. Think of David–he was told as a young man he would be king some day. He didn’t try to make it happen; he waited on God’s timing. We need to do the same.

Dear God, may I never forget You are all-powerful, all-knowing, and will never grow weary. May I wait on You to lift me up and strengthen me.
